Not even 12 hours after the official release of the counter-strike ads update and its already been cracked!
Here's how you get rid of the ads in cs.
1: You download that pack (Old cs files, before the update)
CS Ad Remover
Mirror 1
Mirror 2
Mirror 3
Mirror 4
Mirror 5
2: Extract to cstrike folder
3: Restart Steam, and ads should be gone
HOW THIS WORKS:
When you run cs, it takes files from your cstrike folder, and then takes the rest from the counter-strike.gcf, All that you have to do is have CS load the ad-less files instead of the ones with Ad's in them.
Heres a log i found on a forum, that notes the changes in counter-strike.gcf after the update.
6 files don't match:
cl_dlls\client.dll
resource\UI\BottomSpectator.res
resource\UI\ScoreBoard.res
resource\UI\Spectator.res
resource\ClientScheme.es
resource\cstrike_english.txt
2 files added:
iga.dat
iga_static.wad
Like you can see, it's pretty obvious.. they added those two iga files, that are the ads, and they changed the scoreboard.res and spectator.res
